Eligibility Criteria for CS619 - Who Can Select It?

This is the most important point that most students miss. You cannot select CS619 whenever you want. The university has set strict eligibility criteria for this course.

Credit Hours Requirement: You must have completed at least 90 credit hours. This means you should have passed almost 30 subjects of 3 credit hours each. If your credit hours are less than 90, the system will not allow you to select CS619 in course selection .

Project Group - Single or Group?

You can do your final project alone or in a group of two. A group of 2 students is the most common and recommended .

Many students think that doing a project in a group will reduce their marks. This is completely wrong. There is no disadvantage to group projects. Both students get separate marks based on their own viva performance. In fact, doing a project in a group is beneficial because you can divide the work and learn from each other. Both students have to give their own separate viva. The final viva is always individual.

CS619 consists of 4 main assignments and 2 vivas .

Assignment 1: 

SRS (Software Requirements Specification) 

This is your first assignment. In this, you have to create an SRS document for your selected project. The SRS document includes the project introduction, its scope, functional and non-functional requirements, use case diagram, and usage scenarios. You don't need to do any coding in this phase. Assignment 2: Design Document 

The second assignment is the Design Document. In this assignment, you have to prepare the design of your project. This includes ER Diagram (Entity Relationship Diagram), Class Diagram, Sequence Diagram, and Architecture Diagram. Like SRS, you can also prepare this assignment by watching tutorials.

Assignment 3: Prototype Phase 

This is where your coding starts. In the prototype phase, you have to develop 30-40% of your actual project. You have to show at least 2 to 3 working screens, basic functionality, and a database connection.
